New to DW Calhoun: registering, your first class, policies and fees
Every family registers online through Studio Pro, where Dancers' Workshop Calhoun sends important class information. For the first class, send a labeled water bottle (water only), a labeled dance bag or bookbag, a leotard or athletic wear with no jeans, hair pulled back, and the required shoes for dance classes. Children go into class without a parent.
Two steps before the first class
Register on Studio Pro
Every family registers on Studio Pro, and we send important class information through it. Registration includes our 2026-2027 waiver and our rules and policies. Keep your child's class name and time handy when you register.

What to wear and bring
Our dance studio and our Gymnastics Center are different buildings, 4.1 miles apart. See drive times from nearby towns to both, or finding the gym.
- Rule 6
Bring shoes and belongings in a dance bag or bookbag labeled with the student's name or initials.
- Rule 7
Bring a labeled water bottle to every class. Water only. We have no water fountains.
- Rule 8
Phones stay in the assigned area during class, with no calls or FaceTime. In an emergency, call our front office and we will pass the message on.
- Rule 9
Leotards or athletic wear are fine. No jeans, and no dresses without shorts underneath. Hair pulled back in a ponytail or out of the face for every class.
- Rule 10
Dance classes require specific shoes (color and style set per class), brought to every class. Shoes are not included in tuition.
While your child is in class
- Rule 1
We have no viewing window or viewing device. Children of every age go into class with their instructor, without a parent.
- Rule 2
Please keep the hallway and its entrance clear so instructors can safely hand each student back to a parent.
- Rule 3
Bathroom before class, please. If your child is not potty trained, stay close by in case they need changing; our staff cannot change children.

Keep the lobby and parking lot friendly and respectful.
Every class performs in the recital
- Rule 9
Every class performs in the end of year recital.
- Rule 22
Christmas showcase participants buy the parade package, which is what all students wear for that performance. The Christmas showcase and the end of year recital both require tickets and ticket fees. We are working on recital package options.
- Rule 21
Recital costumes are an extra fee, not included in tuition, and are required for the end of year recital. There is one costume per style (a ballet and tap combo class needs two). Tumble classes wear a recital t-shirt and bow. Costume fees are split into 2 payments, and smaller increments are allowed.

What families pay for

Tuition is monthly and due on the 1st. Tuition paid after the 5th has a $15 late fee added.
- Rule 17
Tuition still owed when the next month begins can result in removal from the class roster.
- Rule 18
Students with tuition owed are not eligible for extra events, including private lessons.
- Rule 19
We take cash, check or Venmo, and we don't accept credit cards at this time. Venmo payments must include the student's first and last name in the note, and must not use the option that deducts a percentage (any shortfall is owed).
- Rule 20
Returned checks carry a $35 fee, added to your payment.
- Rule 11
Class equipment such as batons and pom poms is not included in tuition.
- Rule 24
Any unpaid balance must be settled before registering again at either of our locations.
Make-ups and holiday weeks
- Rule 12
We offer make-up classes only when we have to close (for example for weather). Classes a student misses for sickness, vacation or school sports are not made up or refunded.
- Rule 13
All our locations close Thanksgiving week, Christmas week and Spring Break week (the dates are on our Important dates sheet). Tuition is not prorated for those weeks, because months with 5 weeks are not charged extra.
- Rule 23
No refunds on goods or services, including costumes, parade shirts, recital t-shirts, shoes or items bought from dancemax dancewear, missed classes, summer sessions, studio parties or events, recital DVDs, recital shout outs, tuition and registration fees.

How much is tuition at Dancers' Workshop Calhoun?

Are missed classes made up?

When is DW Calhoun closed?
